The SABB bank, a collaboration of Saudi Arabia and Britain Banking Group, is one of the largest branches in Riyadh. Surrounded by glass panes, the bank was facing significant problems controlling heat and glare from the sun. Employees and patrons in the customer service offices were particularly uncomfortable. To reduce heat and glare they tried using curtains, but the air conditioning system was strained, and the problem was not resolved.
The engineering department of the bank specified LLumar AIR 75 SR HPR film to combat the problem. This spectrally selective film features 39% total solar energy rejection, 70% visible light transmission, and 99% ultraviolet rejection.
Mr. Bashar Sulaiman Al-Humayyan, Head of the SABB Engineering Department, commented that the LLumar film installation improved conditions in the customer service office and eliminated severe heat problems. The view from the interior of the bank is very clear and the exterior has a modern, stylish appearance.
